Adobe 9 Exploit

A condition in Adobe Reader 9 and Adobe Acrobat 9 that allows an attacker to take control of the system once it crashes. This is a serious exploit that affects Windows and Mac OSX and one can simply mitigate the risk by prohibiting Java from running in Adobe.  In Mac OSX consider opening all .pdf files in Preview instead of Adobe.

Once more; open any and all attachments only from people or contacts that you know and verify they sent the file in the event it looks suspicious.
